The practical question

How could consultants and VIEOX collaborate?

Potential collaboration can begin with an operating assessment, an information gap behind a recommendation or an evaluation of an improvement opportunity. The parties can agree how evidence will be gathered, how conclusions will be reviewed and where responsibility for advice, implementation and acceptance sits. The client’s question provides the common starting point.

We welcome consultants who help industrial organisations choose practical priorities for industrial digitization. Your sector knowledge and advisory work can connect with VIEOX’s OT-first approach to equipment, processes and governed industrial data. The shared purpose is a clearer basis for operational improvement and AI for industry.

Bring a decision the client is trying to make

The question may concern production losses, maintenance visibility, a quality investigation or readiness to use industrial AI. Explain the decision the client faces and what information is currently difficult to obtain or trust. That gives the first discussion a useful boundary.

We value sector experience and the ability to listen closely to the people doing the work. An assessment should recognise existing strengths as well as gaps. The aim is a recommendation that the client can understand and evaluate within its operating reality.

Make the basis of a recommendation visible

Discuss how direct observations, stakeholder accounts and assumptions will be distinguished. Agree the scope of evidence and the people who can confirm its meaning. A persuasive presentation becomes more useful when another qualified reviewer can follow the reasoning behind it.

Potential joint work might explore definitions, information journeys, evaluation criteria or a focused demonstration. The exact contribution would be agreed for the opportunity. Advice should remain clear about what is already established, what needs verification and what depends on a future implementation.

Choose measures that serve the client’s decision

NIST’s work on KPI assessment places stakeholder involvement within a structured method for evaluating performance measures. It offers a useful reference for choosing evidence with the people who will use it, rather than allowing an assessment to be shaped only by the information that is easiest to obtain.

Agree the roles before the recommendation becomes a project

Clarify advisory independence, delivery responsibilities, use of client information and how findings will be presented. Discuss commercial arrangements and any potential conflicts openly. A good partnership should help the client understand who is recommending, providing and accepting the work.

Bring an approved description of the operating environment and the decision at hand. We can begin with a conversation about fit and the evidence that would make the next step worthwhile. The relationship can develop around a practical question and the complementary expertise needed to address it.

Put the question to work

A practical checklist

  • Describe the client decision and operating setting.
  • Identify the evidence behind the current recommendation.
  • Separate observations, assumptions and future work.
  • Agree advisory and delivery responsibilities.
  • Discuss information handling and client communication.

Questions, answered

Is this limited to technology consultants?

No. We welcome relevant perspectives from operations, maintenance, quality, improvement, engineering and related advisory work. The useful connection is an industrial question where better information could strengthen the client’s decision.

Can an assessment remain independent of a later implementation?

That boundary should be agreed explicitly. The client should understand which conclusions are independent advice and which proposed activities involve a commercial delivery role.
